Not a lot doing today. Watch a bit of tennis this morning, then before lunch went to the army museum. Very interesting and nice and cool inside. That's always a bonus. Back for late lunch then I went swimming. Didn't go near the shops at all today..
This is a photo I took off a postcard to show our walk around Ala Moana Beach Park we did a few days ago. The boat harbour to the right then our Hotel further right out of the picture. We walked down the right side out to where the man was fishing on the rocks and the waves where coming over the breakwater which protected the little beach at the end of the park. Then we went down the left side to Ala Moana beach top left.
The beach we swim looking from the far end looking back at the Hilton. Lagoon over the back of the left of the Hilton.
These are the paths we walk along in front of the hotels if we go down to central Waikiki Beach. Takes about fifteen minutes.
In behind where we swim.
Another shot of where we swim.
Bruce and Linda found this ice cream shop which they took us to. Great assortment of flavours and yes guys we came back. Yum.
Another shot for Dave. As I said before very unusual to see the planes coming in this way and so close. We were just sitting having lunch and they go past about every 3 or 4 minutes. Unusually the winds are changing all the time so don't know which way they are going to come changes all day. Today we have a few white horses out at sea which is also unusual bringing in an onshore breeze which is very nice in this heat. We have never seen this all the times we have come up here.
Look how skinny this helicopter is at the Army Museum.
Side shot.
Linda and Bruce this is for you so you don't forget!!!!! Not a very good sunset I am sure there will be better ones to rub your nose in it.
Today with 911 approaching we have seen a lot of air force planes about flying up and down the coast. We saw 2 battleships on the horizon and a submarine closer in as well. We remember the first year after 911 we were up here and were amazed how much they were patrolling the coast all day, fighter jets everywhere but it will be interesting to see what they do this year on 911.
